My Weekend At Manresa

It’s almost that time of the year

When the flowers are in full bloom...

That St. Ignatius Loyola begins to summon

The lucky ones to God’s Holy Room...

As St. Ignatius’ words inspire us,

Together, one and all....

To come forward and gracefully heed

God’s Most Holy and Sacred Call...

As we slowly retreat into Manresa

Away from life’s woes and daily grind...

It is into God’s Most Loving Arms

That ourselves we do eventually find...

The smell of dew on the grassy fields

Like a sea of emerald green...

It’s a Gift from Our Higher Power

Filled with love and oh, so serene.

As I walk silently into deep prayer

Among the mighty majestic oaks...

Being one with My Heavenly Father

Lectio Divina needs no coax...

We fall deep into Our Father’s Clutch

As together we peacefully pray...

Turning away all our negative thoughts

As the outside temptations slowly slither away...

Speaking silently to My Heavenly Father

On these old and broken knees...

Being one in deep and solemn prayer

Among these wise, moss dripped trees...

The Brotherhood of Manresa

Is a most spiritual and loving bond...

There’s no greater gift from Heaven

If I simply allow Him to respond...

Until this time next Spring, may all our Thoughts be filled with love...

May God shower us with spirituality

Here on Earth, from far up Above...
